When planning a visit to Denmark, it may be useful to know when the Danes themselves take their holiday. The school summer holiday starts reletively early in Denmark, but due to self-governing rules in the various municipalities, only the starting date is common to all schools. The school summer holiday is usually 7 or 8 weeks. The school year 2010/2011 Summer holiday: 30th June 2011 In addition to the above holidays, the schools are also closed for an Easter holiday, a week’s winter holiday in February (week 7 or 8) and for an autumn break in mid-October (week 42).
